Here are ways you can help:
 
Be A GREETER at the Town Center:
Needed Skills:
       Friendly attitude 
Preparation: 
       
Become familiar with the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival’s events and venue locations.
       Attend the volunteer orientation on Thursday, September 10, at the Town Center.
Responsibilities:
       Hand out programs.
       Answer questions about venue locations, programs, book signings, etc.
       Register people for the workshops or banquet.
       Make the people in the lobby hush-up during sessions.  (haha!)
       Accept evaluations.
       Have people sign-in.  (For grant purposes to collect numbers and where people come from.)
 
Be A SESSION COORDINATOR

Rewards:
        Personally meeting the author of your chosen/assigned event.
        Gratitude from the authors, the community, and the attendees.
Needed Skills:
       Friendly attitude 
       Good speaking and reading voice
Preparation:
       Read about the person you are introducing. Go to cmlitfest.org.
       Become familiar with the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival’s events.
Responsibilities:
       Attend the volunteer orientation on Thursday, September 10, at the Town Center.
       Wear volunteer nametag -- it will be provided.
       Check in at the Town Center Welcoming Table 30 minutes prior to your event
               pick-up bottled water for writer (s) and session evaluation. 
       Be at your assigned session location 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event.
       Check out the location of the bathrooms at your event and ask if author needs anything,
               e.g., water
       Start on time – ask audience to be seated.
       Introduce author – bio will be provided ahead of time
       Count the number of people in audience and write on evaluation 
       Thank author for speaking and the audience for attending. 
       Fill out session evaluation based on your impression of the session’s success and audience’s
               response – Hand in at the Town Center registration desk
